Benito Ferrara is one of Italy’s best white wine producers. Ferrara’s most famous wine, the Greco di Tufo Cicogna, is an Italian icon. The husband and wife team of Gabriella and Sergio Ferrara have one of the smoothest running operations in Campania, producing a bevy of delightful white and red wines.
The wine making consultant is Paolo Caciorgna, whom I consider to be one of Italy’s two or three biggest in enological white wine talents. Ferrara’s Greco di Tufo Cicogna is the perhaps the most elegant made in Italy today. It has a light on its feet quality, a dainty minerality and a lemony freshness that are not commonly found in other Greco di Tufo.
